How to Align Your Team without Adding More Meetings

Focus on the Fun Stuff 🎙️ - ‘If you think Email Marketing is Dead ☠️’
Welcome!
💭 I have ONE powerful question for you today.
What truth are you assuming your team already knows… but haven’t actually said out loud?
Oof. Big one.
And by team.
I mean anyone you work closely alongside and is integral to your business.
Whether thats a team of two, just you and your VA, a team of 10 or more.
A team is who ever is integral to you and your mission. ☺️
This week I sat around a table with my leadership team and had a moment that stopped me cold.
We were mapping out Mi PA’s vision for 2025 and 2028. We’d spent hours digging into goals, projects, what lights us up—and what doesn’t.
After a couple of minute of me talking at a hundred miles an hour about a project I’d love to do - and have dreamed of for years.
My Ops Manager, Matt, looked at me and said:
“I didn’t realise you felt like that. And we’ve worked together for 9 years.”
Read that again.
9 years.
It hit me like a freight train.
I was embarrassed to be fair.
We think our team knows what we want. What we care about. What keeps us up at night.
But if we don’t say it out loud, it’s not real.
Thats on me. Not them.
So this week—say the thing.
Carve the space to do it.
Don’t assume your team “gets it.”
Invite them into the vision.
So lets dig in x
⚙️ SYSTEM TO TRY:
Quarterly Strategy Days (even if it’s just you + your VA)
This week, I had a full strategy day with my leadership team.
And just for clarity.
This is the first time we’ve taken a day out of the business since I started growing a team in 2012.
It’s taken me a while to see how powerful it can be you could say 😅
—but here’s the thing:
You don’t need a big team - at all - to make this powerful.
If it’s just you… block the day and do it solo.
If it’s you and your VA, or a couple of trusted contractors—get them involved.
Here’s how we structured it with Mike Jones from @betterhappy (and how you can adapt it to any team size or if its just you at the moment):
✅ Celebrate the wins from Q1 - so important!!! We keep moving forwards without properly acknowledging everything we’ve achieved. Big or small.
📈 Review goals + performance (even loosely—what worked, what flopped?)
🚀 Set clear objectives for Q2 - what are the key 3 or 4 things (don’t go more than 4) that if you got them done by the end of June you know they’d move the needle and you would be happy that they were done and working!
🧠 Map every upcoming project to ONE owner - if it’s just you make sure you plan in the weekly time to focus on one project at a time.
💬 Make space for honest conversation (yes—even with your VA) - what do you truly want to happen, whats important to you? Is there anything you know would hold you back that you can talk about and get clear on now?
The truth?
You don’t need more people—you need more clarity.
The clearer you get - the easier it is to focus your energy on exactly the right thing.
Which gets you momentum.
And momentum breeds confidence.
Take a day, step out of the chaos, and start leading like the business you’re building—not just the one you have now.
If you want your team to step up—let them step in.
Into the vision.
Into your goals.
Into the parts of your business you’ve been carrying solo for way too long.
And if it’s just you and one other person? Even better.
Start now.
Because the habits you build today become the culture you grow tomorrow.
You don’t need a massive team to lead like a CEO.
You just need a moment of clarity—and the boldness to have the real conversation.
Go win the week!
I am ALWAYS cheering you on

Ai Tool of the Week 🤖
Welcome to Week 4 of AI Tool of the Week!
Let’s keep this one simple. Here’s a killer ChatGPT prompt I use weekly to help me delegate like a boss:
🧠 Prompt:
“Act as a strategic business advisor. Based on the following goals ‘insert your goals here’ suggest 5 tasks I should delegate to my team this week and explain why each one matters.”
🔥 Use it Sunday night. Get your priorities straight. Hand off what you shouldn’t be doing.
(And yes, it works so well if you’ve got a VA or ops support.)
Happy testing! And I’ll be back next week with another AI game-changer 🚀✨
On Focus on the Fun Stuff this week 🎙️
If your email marketing strategy is tired, ineffective, or – argh! – non-existent, my latest podcast episode is definitely one for you.
I sat down with Kennedy, the absolute HERO of email marketing (that is actually the name of his business – go look up emailmarketingheroes!).
And he had endless, fascinating insights on the underrated effects of email marketing in 2025
Most importantly on your ability to make sales 💰️
Talking to other business owners, I’ve realised email marketing really is underrated, have you found that too?
Perhaps we all just got bored of it.
We thought “well there are so many emails in MY inbox, why should I add one more into anyone else’s?”
Or maybe we just didn’t do it right.
But if you listen to this latest episode, you’ll quickly find out how you can do it right:
· Cost-effectively building direct relationships with your audience at scale
· Blazing your own trail as an expert in your field with a consistent content-driven approach
· Reducing your salesforce, having fewer conversations, and actually making more sales
· And you’ll also learn a nice little implementable tip to turn your prospects’ objections into reasons to buy – it’s all in the acknowledgement!
Have a listen next time you’re in the gym, on the train or in the car and let me know how you got on? There was so much to implement in this one, what’s going to be first on your list?
