Feeling behind? Read this before Monday.

The mindset shift that’ll help you plan a week you’re proud of.

Achieve the life you want by Winning the Week

Welcome!

On Wednesday I was in a room full of business owners in Essex.

Me, Lee & Will - we all got the black and grey memo

Ai expert Lee Russell was there talking about Ai agents.

(if you haven’t listened to Lee’s episode I HIGHLY recommend it here > you can listen here)

A topic most business owners are frantically trying to understand, implement or they just spend time worrying about. 😅

And as he spoke, you could feel the room doing that thing we all do:

“I should be further along by now….”

“Everyone else is in a better place than me…”

Everyone started thinking about what they weren’t doing with AI.

How far “behind” they were.

But here’s the punchline:

When Lee asked what tools people were actually using…

99% of the room was only using ChatGPT.

Literally no one was further along than anyone else.

Yet almost everyone had decided they were behind.

We do this to ourselves all the time.

We make up a vision of where we “should” be by now in life.

Beat ourselves up for not being there.

And it helps….

Absolutely no one.

Imagine how much more energy we’d have if we realised we’re exactly where we’re meant to be?

Let’s dig in. 😉

“Comparison is the thief of joy… especially when it’s with an imaginary version of yourself.”

Emma Mills

If you ever let those thoughts creep in..

‘I thought I’d be further along by now’

‘I expected to be in a different place by this age’

‘I thought this year we’d finally do X revenue goal’

They don’t benefit you.

They’re completely made up with stories you’ve told yourself.

And I want to help you banish them as quickly as possible with my GOALS method.

These 5 steps will get rid of the doubt and fire you forward:

  1. G - Gain Perspective
From Dan Sullivan’s The Gap and the Gain. Brilliant Book!!!!
Look back 3, 5, or 7 years and list everything that’s improved.

Whats changed and improved for you since 2022? 2020? 2018?
We spend our lives focussed on the gap. The gap of where we are now and where we want to be.

When you live in the gain - you feel gratitude and pride and understanding of all of the things you’ve made happen.
You’ll be amazed at how far you’ve already come.

  2. O – Outline Your Targets
Most “I’m behind” feelings come from fuzzy goals.
Get clear on what you actually want.
Like what you really really want.
Get clear on how you’ll measure that progress.

  3. A – Avoid False Comparisons
That version of yourself your chasing? Totally made up.
That timeline you set? Totally made up.
There’s no “right” timeline, only the one that works for you.

Your journey is unfolding exactly as it’s meant to.

  4. L – List Your Goals Daily
Brendon Burchard’s “Battle Board” is my favourite tool that I’ve learned.
I have a mini A4 whiteboard by my bed with my 90-day goals. (Sorry, Joe.)
The key things that are most important to me each month.
    For the next 3 months.
It keeps me focussed and aligned as soon as I wake up.
It’s easier to not get distracted by the super shiny object when you know what your absolute top priority goals are.
You’ll also be far more inclined to spend your time on the most meaningful things.
Which is the best indicator that you’re moving towards exactly where you need to be. 😉

  5. S – Start Your Next Chapter
Stop re-reading and re-thinking about the old story.
It’s Sunday — write your 30-day, 60-day and 90-day goals and begin a new page.
    Today.

You’re exactly where you’re supposed to be right now.

This week, focus on the next step.

Not the imaginary finish line.

Spend 10 minutes today planning your week so you don’t turn up to Monday without a plan.

Your future self will thank you.

Cheering you on ALWAYS.

Em x
