How I got 20% more sales.... đ¸
on 20% less leads

One thing that pushes me to Win the week?
Knowing that Iâm taking action.
Itâs the knowing that your doing the stuff.
That gives you the confidence and congruence that your making things happen.
Even if youâre not getting the results.
Or the sale.
Just yet.
Itâs the very knowing that your taking action. That youâre doing the thing.
That gives you an unshakeable confidence.
That all of your steps are leading to wins.
Sooner or later.
Rewinding to 2021 when we weâre still keeping 2 metres apart I was taking lot of actions.
But only on some of the things.
For some reason I was holding onto every lead that came in to Mi PA like my business depended on itâŚ
Because, well, it did.
I was absolutely convinced that no one could follow up with my leads as well as I could.
After all, I knew my business, my pitch, and my audience better than anyone else.
Iâve lived and breathed it since 2008.
But it was hurting me.
And we definitely werenât winning the week.
So lets dig in⌠đ
Success is the sum of small efforts,
repeated day in and day out.
So here was the problem.
I was following up when I had time.
I fit it in when I had time, which wasnât often, because I had so many other plates spinning.
The result?
Leads were slipping through the cracks.
Conversations started strong, but they didnât have consistent follow-up, they went cold.
And it was hurting us.
When I looked at the numbers at the end of the year (tip: donât look at the numbers only at the end of the year!) it wasnât good.
So in 2022, I made a big decision: I handed the follow-up reins to Helena, a member of my team.
Iâll be honestâit wasnât easy for me mentally.
I worried the calls wouldnât be as personal, as persuasive, or as effective as mine.
But hereâs what happened: Helena followed up rhythmically.
Every lead got a call, a text, or a message until they said ânoâ or booked a call.
Quite literally âUntil they buy or until they dieâ was Helenas mantra.
And still is!
I often get comments and messages literally just commenting on how impressive it is.
That we follow up when we say we will.
That we continue to call when they donât answer.
So in 2022 no one slipped through the cracks, and no one was left wondering if they mattered.
That year, we made 20% more sales on 20% FEWER LEADS.
The second part blows me away still.
Talk about an obvious but effective change.
The difference? It wasnât magic or even a perfect sales pitchâit was the power of consistent follow-up.
And the thing is itâs not just about business.
It then gave me the opportunity to follow up.
With people Iâd met and people Iâd neglected.
Building relationships.
Staying in touch with people who can support your journey.
Following up with people you enjoy being around.
Send the text, make the phone call, send the âhey! do you fancy lunchâ emailâŚ.
Good things will happen.
Most of us just forget to follow up in business and life.
Afraid of the answer but also afraid for someone else to do it.
Follow-up is essential.
To make things happen.
This week plan in an hour for follow up.
Who could you find in your phone book to re-connect with?
Who can take on the follow up if youâre not giving it the attention you know it deserves?
