Maximum activity. Minimal Results. 📉

My story.

Achieve the life you want by Winning the Week

Welcome friends!

A quick story.

Between 2015 and 2019 the revenue of Mi PA hovered between £263,000 and £279,000.

And to be honest I was doing more hours than ever and my stress levels we’re verging on the gin and tonic for breakfast scale.

On paper?
I had static numbers. I had bad payers. So I had painful cashflow.

In the week?
Busy. Every hour of my week was planned doing something.

In reality?
Well in reality. I was extremely stuck.

Maximum activity. Minimal results.

Lets dig in 🚀

I’m in the middle of writing my first book and I’ve been looking back through the journey of building Mi PA.

What actually moved the needle.

With my time.

Financially

And in my ability to Focus on the Fun Stuff.

2015 - 2019 was a pretty static period of time from a revenue perspective.

But my weeks we’re anything but static.

I was doing a lot.

Busy but stuck.

So I started to flick through my calendar back then and here’s what 2015 Emma was doing:

  • She was doing her own emails (especially keeping them open all day so I could get that dopamine hit of busy. Reading and reply reactively - you know the one)

  • Delivering client work

  • Making absolutely every sale myself that came into the business

  • Attending loads of networking events

  • Learning constantly (but then definitely not having any time to implement any of it). I still have all the workbooks with lots of dust and lots of notes

  • My calendar was literal chaos. There was no rhythm or structure to it. I was booking in all the things. Whenever it suited everyone else.

I even had cushions on my sofa that said “Hustle.” (Thanks GaryVee 😅)

What I thought was ambition…was definitely busyness.

Half-finished projects.
Reactive days.
Jumping to the next idea and definitely not finishing it.

And here’s the irony:

I ran a business that provided leverage to other business owners…
while living with none of it myself.

And on top of that…

My sleep was bad. (so much uncertainty and no rhythm of cash or sales)
Cashflow unpredictable.
Stress constant.

Then in 2017 remortgaged my house to clear some business debt.

I need headspace and a clear path forwards and re-mortgaging gave me that

But it was the biggest wake up call ever that…..

My business wasn’t delivering me the life I wanted.

It was well intended chaos dressed up as graft.

Hustle started the business.

But structure and leverage scale it.

I hadn’t graduated to that part yet 💡

And I wasn’t spending or architecting my time like a successful business owner.

So I had to change a lot.

I changed almost everything of how I spent my weeks.

I hired my own EA.
I re-structured my calendar. With days protected for different parts of the business. Sales, marketing, finance and most importantly thinking and focus time.
I protected time fiercely.
I calculated my real hourly rate. The opportunity I was losing every time I sorted through my own emails and I let that guide my decision making.
I stopped living in my inbox.

It felt very uncomfortable at first.

The desire was always there just to jump in and do it yourself.
Uncomfortable.
Felt almost lazy at times.

But that was old Emma thinking.

Bit by bit, I stopped repeating those weeks.

Things shifted.

And since 2017 - 2025, Mi PA has grown revenue by 500%.

Not because I worked more hours.

In fact I started to work less.

Because I stopped reacting to them.

Had a clear plan for my time and leveraged it and had an EA to keep me out of the weeds.

I share this mini tale because I have a question for you this Sunday:

Are you building momentum…or just staying busy?

How was last week?

  • Did you protect your time with your phone on DND to work on the most important things?

  • Did you get to Friday feeling satisfied or just exhausted?

  • Did you say yes to all things because it gives you an excuse not to face the real work you know needs to get done to move you forwards?

  • Did you delegate at least one thing every day?

Good to reflect on this Sunday. ✨

Winning the week is the difference between compounding your growth…and repeating the same year five times.

Learn from my mistakes.

Always cheering you on

Em x
