Welcome!
We’re in the middle of a house renovation currently. 🏚️
And when I say in the middle - I actually mean at the start 😁 but after 6 months in - it feels like I should be showing you before and afters already.
I’ve still only got ‘the befores’ currently 😅
I’m particularly dying to do some Halloween decorating in the house.
I’m loving seeing pumpkins and ghosts being squeezed into every cake, coffee and bao bun. Even Colin the Caterpillar hasn’t escaped.
But scarier than Colins current disguise is the actual Sunday Scaries
Google tells me:
‘The Sunday Scaries is a feeling of dread that occurs on a Sunday evening.
It’s a form of anticipatory anxiety, which means it’s a feeling of fear about an event that hasn’t happened yet.’
It then says that a common cause is a long to-do list.
That feeling of overwhelm of all the things you NEED to get done.
But a long to-do list isn’t how we Win The Week.
So lets dig in 😉
Make sure every day you do what matters most.
When you know what matters most, everything makes sense.
When you don’t know what matters most, anything makes sense
If you’re thinking of every single thing you have to do this week and it’s got you reaching for a glass of red this Sunday evening….
I want to help you flip how you’re looking at the week.
Now granted there might actually be lots of things on your list
But what we don’t need (and won’t get) is more time.
What we need is better priorities.
If Jeff Bezos, Richard Branson and Warren Buffet all have 24 hours.
Then time isn’t your problem.
It’s your focus.
Your priorities.
The one thing that will make the biggest shift this week.
I want you to take a look at your list and ask - will actually any of it make the big shift?
Or am I busy in busyness?
Feeling good about being busy but having anxiety on what I’m actually achieving?
As entrepreneurs we’re wired to come up with new ideas.
Get excited about new opportunities.
But if we give everything our attention - nothing gets our attention.
But here’s the exciting bit this evening 😲
You get the opportunity to take your to do’s down to ONE.
Know that this is the thing you’ll feel amazing by Friday if you get it done.
And if you’re struggling….
Do these 4 things:
Have you got a long to do list? Read it through and pull out the most important thing to get done.
Put this one thing above everything else.
The remaining to-do’s look at:
who you can delegate it to
Does it really need to be done at all?
Who in the future can do it for you?
If you don’t think any of it is really that game changing - now you know that you’re missing a bit of clarity. Which is great!
Because at least you know! And this week you’ve got some time to put aside to look at where you’re heading and whats the next most important step.
P.S. And if you haven’t read the ‘One Thing’ by Gary Keller I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT! To quiet the overwhelm and get focussed on moving the most essential thing forwards. You can find it here ⬆️
Is your PA/EA looking after everything else?
Who else is picking up everything else on your list?
An Executive Assistant/PA should do exactly that.
Protecting your time.
Picking up all of the other tasks that don’t need you directly.
Or asking enough questions so that they can move things forwards.
Knowing whats most important.
Managing you.
And if your PA could use a little help with how to be more effective at this..
Just reply Fasttrack.
Becuase I’m launching something next month which will be the go to resource for all PA’s and EA’s to entrepreneurs just like you.
We spend so much time and money coaching and educating ourselves we often forget that those supporting us need it too.
Well I’m here to make sure that every business owners PA will have access to the best resources to support you effortlessly.
I’m excited to share it.
It’ll be a real game changer for every business owner with an assistant ✨
On Focus on the Fun Stuff this week 🎧️
This week, I’m joined by Mike Jones, founder of Better Happy, an organisation that helps businesses thrive by aligning company success with personal growth.
For Mike, creating a happy workplace starts with a happy business owner.
But, as business owners, we often wrestle with self-doubt that can ripple through the entire business, complicating things more than they need to be.
So if you’ve ever felt like the culture in your business isn’t quite where you want it to be, or you struggle with decisions like raising prices, this episode is one for you.
Let’s dive into how we can overcome these challenges and build happier businesses with more productive teams…
Go Win The Week.
Know you’re one key focus this week and make it happen.
All of the other tasks either delegate, delete or can wait.
End Friday on a high knowing you’ve moved forwards.
I’m cheering you on
