This One Question (from Terry Gormley) Got Me Moving Again

Momentum doesn’t come from waiting. It comes from doing.

Achieve the life you want by Winning the Week

Welcome!

So it’s been a minute or two since I was last in your Inbox.

3 weeks to be precise.

And 3 weeks ago I was sniffling into a tissue watching my best friend Caroline get married. 👰

Me wondering how Im going to stand in heels for the next 8 hours 😅 👠

2 weeks ago, I was a Triathlon wag in Lanzarote, cheering Joe over the Ironman finish line (and sweating buckets just watching him).

And at work, well at work we’re completely re-designing part of the business.

So it’s been a pretty busy month.

But if I’m honest — and probably too much so in my content…… 😅

That’s not why I’ve been quiet.

Because 1 week ago….. well 1 week ago I was just wondering what to say tbh.

Somewhere in all of the life stuff, I lost my rhythm.

A bit of overwhelm and confusion crept in.

And the longer I didn’t hit send, the harder it got to start again.

You second guess yourself.

You think it won’t be any good.

Who’ll want to read it etc etc…

And I know a lot of business owners that sit in the gap.

The gap between knowing what to do….and actually doing it.

So how do you get out of it?

Let’s dig in

x

It’s exactly what I spoke about with Terry Gormley on my podcast a couple of weeks ago.

He calls it “The Will to Act” — that moment when you know the next step, but something still holds you back.

Whether it’s doubt, fear, burnout, tiredness.

The list goes on.

And then he asked this question:

“What’s one thing future-you will thank you for doing today?”

Simple.

Direct.

And ultimately the one thing future-you will thank you for is ACTION

“You don't have to have it all figured out to move forward.”

Brendon Burchard

If you’ve been feeling stuck, behind, tired, lost or like you’ve “fallen off the wagon” — this is your nudge.

Today I reminded myself (and maybe you need this too):

Momentum doesn’t come from waiting for the perfect moment.
It comes from doing one small thing that moves you forward.

For me today - it was sending out Win The Week.

And hoping it inspires one other person reading it to take action as well.

Small steps.

So today Win the Week question is really simple:

👉 What’s one thing future-you will thank you for doing today?

Not five things.

Not a whole plan.

Just one action.

  • Taking 10 minutes today to properly plan your week

  • Deciding one project you’ll have progressed by Friday

  • Send the email.

  • Follow up the lead.

  • Post the thing.

  • Book the thinking time.

  • Reopen the draft you’ve been avoiding.

It doesn’t matter what.

In fact you’ll know exactly what it is.

Where your action needs to be.

Because clarity comes after action — not before.

Clarity and momentum comes after you get started.

Not before.

Theres never a moment everything will be aligned.

So just get started now.

And before you know it.

You’ll feel the momentum and clarity appearing.

Just like I do now.

I’m cheering you on always

Em
