“What should I do next?” – The question that’s secretly draining you

Everyone waiting for your next instruction?

Achieve the life you want by Winning the Week

Welcome!

I was at Entrepreneurs Circle on Thursday.

I’m part of a mastermind group with Nigel Botterill and 8 other business owners:

Entrepreneurs ‘post carb lunch’

And post lunch one of the group said something that got me right in the feels:

“There’s nothing worse than when you’re drowning in stuff yourself…

and a team member walks in and says,

‘What should I do next?’

💥 Right?

You’re already stretched. Already overloaded.

And instead of moving things forward, you’re being asked to think more, plan more, assign more.

The more “doers” you add, the worse it gets.

Because most businesses don’t need more people waiting for instructions.

They need strategic support — people who own outcomes, not just tasks.

People who get sh*t moving.

Let’s dig in.

More hands on deck isn’t helpful if they’re all waiting to be told when to row.

Emma Mills

Here’s what I’ve learned after working with 400+ business owners at Mi PA:

✅ Doers ask what to do next
✅ Strategics ask what outcome needs to happen — and figure out how to make it happen

That one shift changes everything.

Because when you have someone who…

  • Sees the big picture

  • Takes ownership of the result, not just the to-do

  • Solves problems without needing hand-holding

  • Unblocks themselves without asking you 15 questions a day...

That’s when you finally start to breathe again.

That’s when the wheels start turning — without you having to push every single one.

🔍 This week’s Win the Week question:

👉 Have you got doers around you?
👉 Or do you have someone who gets things done without you?

You’ll know the answer immediately.
You feel it in your gut.

You stop yourself handing over projects…
because you know you’ll end up managing them anyway.

🎯 Your challenge this week:

Take 10 minutes to:

✅ Review the next 3 projects or priorities on your plate
✅ Ask: Am I the only one who knows what “done” looks like here?

If yes — that’s a delegation opportunity.

If you’re not delegating…..

❌ Are you avoiding it because it’ll lead to 97 follow-up questions?
❌ Does handing it off feel more painful than just doing it yourself?

(And if you don’t have someone who can own it yet… we can help 👇)

Leveraging your time is your superpower.

It’s your secret weapon as a business owner.

Make sure you’ve got the right sidekick by your side.

Cheering you on always,

Em x
