Welcome!

I’m sorry todays newsletter is delayed

We had a leak. 🚰

I think I’ve mentioned before that myself and Joe are in the middle of renovating our home.

We moved out last August and we havent lived there since!

We’re focusing on renovating the first floor and today we we’re meant to move back in.

However this cold spell of snow and -8c weather has had other plans for us. 🧊

Yesterday we couldn’t turn the heating back on.

The pipes were frozen.

So we plugged every electric heater in known to man.

And this morning when we arrived - there was water coming out of every opening possible known to man.

So now we are not moving in.

And in times like this it’s very easy to get completely overwhelmed.

But today, as I watched Joe shovelling up our kitchen ceiling…

I had a moment of clarity:

This is exactly when the habits I’ve built matter most.

So lets dig in.

The habits that you practice through the good times are the ones that carry you through the challenging times

Why Your Habits Matter When Life Gets Hard

When things go wrong, it’s tempting to let the stress take over—to skip the habits that normally keep you grounded because "you’re too busy" or "too stressed." But here's what I've realised:

✅ My daily steps (I aim for 14k steps) aren’t just about fitness — they clear my head.
✅ Journaling helps me process frustration instead of letting it build up.
✅ Eating well keeps my energy steady when things feel chaotic.
✅ Sticking to my fitness schedule above everything else reminds me that progress happens even during tough times.
✅ Focusing on my main work project: Keeping the main thing the main thing at work - instead of spiraling in the stress keeps me productive where I can actually make an impact.

The thing I realised in 2024 is that the daily habits are not just for the good days.

They are almost certainly even more important on the challenging days

And thats why I’m so passionate on winning the week by planning on a Sunday.

If you plan in the most important things now.

You’re set for a good week even when the unexpected comes your way.

They are the anchors that hold you steady when life feels out of control.

So take ten minutes for yourself and please, please, please:

  • Plan in your fitness this week

  • Schedule when you’ll learn, read, journal

  • What can you prep in advance to make sure you fuel yourself with the right food?

  • What is your most important project for January and have you scheduled in daily non negotiable time to get it done?

How to Stay Strong When Life Feels Messy

So if you’re facing a tough week (or when you inevitably do), here’s how you can stay grounded:

  1. Return to Your Basics: Stick to your non-negotiable habits—whether that’s moving your body, journaling, or simply drinking enough water. Simple actions create stability.

  2. Control What You Can: You may not control the chaos, but you can control your daily actions and mindset.

  3. Remember the Long Game: Challenges are temporary. The habits you maintain now are shaping who you’re becoming long-term.

  4. Let Go of Perfection: Doing something is better than doing nothing. Even small actions help shift your mindset.

✅ What’s one small habit you can commit to this week, no matter what life throws your way?

Hit reply and let me know—I always love to hear about it! 😄

The truth is, life gets messy. But how we respond in those moments is what sets us apart.

Let’s win this week together.
